SIL is doing the operation of breaking or fracturing rocky overburden. The process involves boring a hole into a rock, inserting an explosive charge, and detonating the charge. Once loosened, the material may be removed, leaving the coal seam exposed for extraction.
SIL Does
- Clearing and grabbing, roadway excavation & Embankment cutting were done simultaneously.
- Excavated sub-grade surface was levelled end sealed.
- Surface was wetted using water bowser.
- Compaction was done when the surface is ready.
- Sub-grade top levels were taken jointly with the consultant
