Ten machines, compressor-backed
Rotary and percussion drills with the air to keep them cutting continuously. Compressor capacity is what separates a machine that drills all shift from one that waits.
Ten drilling machines with compressor support, putting holes where the blast design says they go, to the depth and angle it says.
Drilling looks like the simplest thing on a quarry floor and is the easiest to do badly.
A hole a metre off pattern, or two degrees off vertical, does not announce itself. It shows up as oversize at the hopper, a toe left standing at the bench, or flyrock going somewhere it should not. By then the charge is already spent.
We run ten machines with high-pressure compressor support and treat the pattern as a specification rather than a suggestion.
What you get
01
Rotary and percussion drills with the air to keep them cutting continuously. Compressor capacity is what separates a machine that drills all shift from one that waits.
02
Soft sedimentary through to hard igneous. Bit selection, feed pressure and penetration rate change with the rock, and so does what a realistic day's drilling looks like.
03
Collar position, depth, diameter and inclination drilled to the blast design. Deviation is measured, not assumed, because a hole nobody checked is a hole that will surprise the shotfirer.
04
Site investigation holes, dewatering and probing ahead of a face. Less of our volume, and the same machines do it.
Straight answers
Yes. Drilling is quoted on its own where you already have a licensed blasting arrangement, though most clients find it simpler to have one crew responsible for the hole and the charge that goes in it.
It depends entirely on rock and hole diameter, which is why nobody honest quotes a fixed metre rate before seeing the site. On the sandstone and softer basalt we work through Bundelkhand and Madhya Pradesh, a machine is productive across a full shift. Hard granite in Karnataka is a different number.
Usually goes with
Licensed shotfirers, a design for the rock in front of them, and vibration monitored on every shot. Breaking overburden and rock without breaking anything else.
Taking a lease from bare ground to a working face: overburden off, rock down, material moving. Twenty excavators and the crews who run them.
Get a rate
Four things and we can quote it. Send it before 6pm on a working day and you will hear back the same day.
